BARDIC COMPETITION: Who will be the next...BARD OF FETTBURG? Only a couple weeks are left until Fettburg Midsummer Feast and the competition for the next Bard of Fettburg on Saturday, August 9th at the Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Street. One talented contestant will win the glorious title of Bard of Fettburg and the honor of governing the entertainment of Her Excellency, Baroness Cassandra and her populace. It could be you! If you've ever waited at a bardic circle, wondering when you could share your song or story, this is perfect for you! If you've just got a couple pieces in your repertory, but would like to learn more, this is perfect for you!  If you would like to bring more bardic participation to Fettburg events, this is perfect for you! Contestants will need to perform three pieces in front of the judging Head Table and Midsummer Feast audience: One period song/story/poem, one peri-oid (in a period style) song/story/poem and one song/story/poem in a period style composed by the contestant. If you wish to perform, but not compete, there will also be time for non-competing performances. I ask all competing and non-competing performers to please contact me, Yukiko (the blonde Japanese pregnant Lady) on the day of the feast so I can ensure each performance is presented to its best advantage. Good luck to all budding bards! -Yukiko Hosokawa, Bard of Fettburg
